Karbak reaches out to flood hit villagers
ITANAGAR, Sept 7: The heavy downpour has triggered Yomgo River to flow above danger level and reportedly lashed Liromoba constituency of West Siang washing away paddy fields at Kambu village and affected more than 52 households in the village. It is said that 50 households at Kambu and two more houses at Kerang under Rumgong circle were affected by the flood. The ravaging river has almost washed away the paddy fields nearby its bank. Kambu is one of the most populous villages under Liromoba constituency that is yet to be connected by road and has witnessed one of the worst floods ever. Considering the grim flood situation in his constituency, Liromoba MLA cum Chairman Arunachal Pradesh Building and Others Construction Workers Welfare Board (APBOCWWB) Nyamar Karbak along with ADC Niken Lollen, CO Sarah Borang, EE WRD Tadam Kamcham had trekked to Kambu village from Rui village to assess the damage on Sunday.
While responding to the verbal representation submitted by ASM Gamli Niri, Karbak has assured to construct flood control protection wall along Yomgo River to contain further erosion. MLA further announced rupees ten thousand each for the worst affected households. The MLA has directed the ADC to submit the reports of the damage of properties to the government at earliest. The ADC has announced Rs.14500 for majorly damaged households and Rs.5000 for partially damaged households.
Include Itanagar in Smart City project, Tuki appeals Centre
NEW DELHI, Sept 7: Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has appealed Union Minister of Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs, Venkiah Naidu to consider the inclusion of Itanagar as Smart City by the Government of India.
In a meeting with the Union Minister at New Delhi, Tuki along with Minister of Urban Development, Pema Khandu and Parliamentary Secretary UD, Techi Kaso made a strong case for considering Itanagar under the Smart City project in addition to Pasighat which has already been included in the first list of 100 cities declared by the Centre.
They also discussed other projects under the Ministry of Urban Development in the state.
The Union Minister informed that a sum of Rs. 73 Crore is being sanctioned for the projects in the state under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
Naidu further assured funds for all ongoing schemes which have more than 50 per cent physical progress.
The delegation apprised the Union Minister about the new prioritised schemes submitted under the 10 per cent lump sum Scheme for North Eastern Region (NER) and sought his intervention for early sanction of the same.

ITANAGAR, Sept 7: The Tajam Abu Welfare Society (TAWS) has blamed the concerned contractor and authority carrying out the road formation cutting from Chambang to Gangte under Kurung Kumey district, for alleged carelessness in executing the work, which has resulted in the death of two persons on Aug 28 last.
It claimed that two persons had lost their lives in a rainfall triggered flashflood and landslide near the road formation cutting work due to dumping of mud from the road formation work and further appealed the concerned contractor and authority to provide adequate compensation to the victims’ families.

ITANAGAR, Sept 7: Arunachal’s Weightlifting wonder boy Jimjang Deru has won a gold
medal at the opening day of the 5th Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) in Apia, Samoa
today under 56 Kg weight category. He lifted a total of 237 kg with 102 kg in snatch
& 135 kg in clean & jerk. With this achievement, Jimjang will be the youth ranked
no. 1 in the Commonwealth Nations, informed Daniel Teli, General Secretary of Arunachal
Weightlifting Association. Jimjang is the second Arunachalee weightlifter after
Yukar Sibi to win a medal for India at Youth Commonwealth Games. Sibi had won a silver

AAPSU meet Ravi on Naga Peace Accord, reiterates on territorial integrity
ITANAGAR, Sept 7: All Arunachal Pradesh Students ’ Union (AAPSU) has urged Interlocutor, Naga Peace Accord, Ram Narayan Ravi to ensure safety and security of the people living in Arunachal Pradesh and specifically Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts while asking the Interlocutor to ensure that the territorial integrity is not compromised.
In a memorandum submitted to him today at New Delhi today, the students said that there is a negative apprehension which is palpable in the minds of lakhs of citizens of the state with respect to the “Naga Peace Accord” signed between Govt. of India and NSCN (IM) on August 3rd.
It further said that before the final draft of the “Naga Peace Accord” is put together, a representative from Arunachal be included in the drafting committee so that interests of the state are not jeopardised.
Chairman JIC cum Interlocutor is reported to have assured the delegation that Arunachal Pradesh’s interest and trust will not be compromised. Ravi further said that there won’t be any change in the boundary demarcation of Arunachal Pradesh. He also revealed to the delegation that his office is yet to make any decision concerning Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
Ravi further assured that before the final draft of the accord is made, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh as well concern civil society bodies and AAPSU will be consulted.
President AAPSU Kamta Lapung insisted that before the final accord, the centre should ensure the safety and security of the people of Arunachal Pradesh particularly of Tirap, Changlang and Longding and also asked that the territorial integrity of Arunachal Pradesh should not be compromised at any cost.
Later, Biru Nasi General Secretary AAPSU urged the Chairman JIC to deploy additional forces in the affected districts so that peace is maintained and freedom of expression is upheld without any sort of fear psychosis.

ITANAGAR, Sept 7: Thousands of people participated in a candle light rally here demanding justice for late Kenpu Dong which started from Akashdeep and culminated at Tennis Court, IG Park here this evening.
Kenpu was allegedly brutally assaulted by a group of women on August 17 last on the pretext of settling a misunderstanding after which her body was found hanging in her rented room. She was a student of class VIII at Govt Middle School, Liruk in Daporijo. While Daporijo police has registered the case under section 306 of the IPC, which refers to abetment of suicide, the family members of the deceased have claimed that the girl was murdered.

Traders down their shutters in protest against extortion
ITANAGAR, Sept 7: Shutters were down today in Naharlagun market after a group of extortionists belonging to a students’ body, forcefully entered some grocery shops and took away some expired packaged commodities as well as cash.
Later at around 2pm, hundreds of traders led by Arunachal Chamber of Commerce Industries, President, Techi Lala, General Secretary, Tarh Nachung, Information Secretary, Toko Prakash and Naharlagun Bazar Welfare Committee, President, Shillong Tajo took out a protest march through the main thoroughfare of the township to draw attention against injustice towards them.
In a meeting under the chairmanship of Lala and Tajo, it was unanimously decided to keep the shutters down of all business establishments besides petrol depots in the Capital Complex including Nirjuli, Banderdewa and Doimukh. A written complaint was launched against such illegal activities.
Such clear cut threat to the growth of trade and commerce, cannot be tolerated anymore, Lala told the police station OC.
He demanded stern actions to end such unlawful activities.
73 houses washed away in Anpum and Loklung
ROING, Sept 7: Seventy three houses have been washed out by the flood at Anpum and Loklung villages under Paglam Circle in Lower Dibang Valley District till today.
Circle Officer Paglam, Tatling Pertin informed that 103 families have been affected in both the villages.
A lift water tank at Anpum and a hanging bridge at Loklung village connecting the agricultural fields were also washed out by the devastating flood.
A relief camp is being set up at Anpum School ground for the flood victims. Though the water level has receded, the erosion still continues, the CO added. Many villagers have resorted to dismantling their dwelling houses for fear of being washed away by the flood water.
Meanwhile, the district administration has lifted 94 bags of rice and essential medicines to Dambuk ADC headquarter by the Indian Air Force Sortie today, DIPRO.

He further requested the Power Minister to provide schemes for modernisation of rural electricity networks in the State with special emphasis on the Rupa Tawang Transmission Circuit.
The Union Minister assured that he will immediately review the rural electricity scenario in the state with leading agencies such as Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) and others. It may be noted that a Comprehensive Scheme on Transmission for the North Eastern Region is being implemented under the aegis of the PGCIL in the state. Goyal also sought separate proposals from the State Government for strengthening rural electrification in Arunachal Pradesh for examination and consideration by the Ministry of Power.
In another meeting, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley assured that the Centre would provide all possible support to the state for the speedy setting up of the Greenfield Airport at Hollongi.
While agreeing to the fact that the absence of an Airport in Arunachal Pradesh is an impediment towards holistic development, Jaitley opined that some kind of air connectivity should be provided even if it is on a smaller scale.
They also discussed the setting up of the Film, Television and Animation Institute in the state which was recently announced by the Centre. Upon the invitation of the Chief Minister, Jaitley has agreed to visit the state to lay the foundations of the Greenfield Airport and the Film Institute at Jote sometime in January next year.
Tuki also called on Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram and discussed the scope of several schemes under the Ministry. Oram said that he will expand the presence of Eklavya Model Residential Schools in the State and instructed his officials to examine the status of the same immediately.

AdiSU meet DC, questions DA relief efforts
ITANAGAR, Sept 7: The members of Adi Students Union (AdiSU) led by its president Mida Pertin today met Lower Dibang Valley Deputy Commissioner and appraised him about the flood situation in Anpum and Loklung villages. The union informed the DC that excessive rainfall has resulted in water logging and flooding in Anpum and Loklung. The flooding has caused massive damage to human settlements, govt. infrastructure, water and sanitation supply, educational institutions and agriculture fields.
AdiSU expressed concern over the way the district administration failed to respond to the whole crisis. “Since August 14, the flood has ravaged the whole area. Till today 97 houses have been washed away and 226 had to dismantle their house. Unfortunately there is no provision from the district administration to tackle the flood situation,” stated AdiSU. Further the union added that, “The people are crying out for immediate relief from the district administration. The domestic animals of the villagers are injured and dying because of the flood. No veterinary provision has been provided. No medical provision is available for the people.”

NAMSAI , Sept 7: Namsai Deputy Commissioner , R K Sharma today called upon the DMO and DVO to depute medical and veterinary teams to flood affected areas to keep close vigil especially on post flood water born diseases both for men and domestic animals.

The MLA also requested the concerned department to submit first hand report on flood damage to apprise the govt. to release necessary funds as compensation/relief to the poor people.
As per reports, altogether 637 inmates of 128 families are in four relief camps at Jenglai, Kaba, Deobeel and New Silatoo.
As water level recedes, inmates from three relief camps have returned to their respective villages wherein relief camp at new Silatoo is till operating. Reports from several villages have come up regarding death/ washing away of livestock, rural link roads beside destruction of thousands of acres of standing crop in every part of the district.

What is physiotherapy? A lot of people ask me what is physiotherapy; this is quite fascinating thing for them as many of them still don’t know anything about it. So I tell them that Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy is a health care profession primarily concerned with the remediation of impairment and disabilities and promoting mobility, functional ability and quality of life through the tools available to them i.e. physical examination that includes manual muscle testing, goniometry, observation and physical assessment that includes special physical examination tests; evaluation of the patient’s condition and finally coming to a definite diagnosis. And as per their diagnosis they plan the treatment protocol, whatever is best for the patient.
Physiotherapy is carried out by specially trained therapists known as ‘Physiotherapists’ or ‘Physical Therapists’ as called in western world. According to World Health Organization, Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy is considered as one of the toughest medical courses in the world. The World Physiotherapy Day is observed on 8th September every year throughout world to spread the awareness about Physiotherapy and make people realize the importance of Physiotherapy in today’s world.
The role of a Physiotherapist is to facilitate optimum functional independence, health and well being of the individual. This is achieved by specialised manual therapy techniques, electrotherapeutic modalities, exercises, advices and counselling of patient and their care givers, along with the provision of adaptive devices and mobility aids education and training. Apart from that, the therapist may also emphasis on workplace modification.
Physiotherapy involves interactions between therapists, doctors and other concerned health care professionals like surgeons, psychologist, neurologist, speech therapist, occupational therapists and many others; family members, care givers and the community in a process where patient’s potential is assessed, diagnosed and goals are agreed upon.
Who does Physiotherapists treat?
The physiotherapist on the basis of the patient’s complaints, history, physical assessment, observation and investigation; diagnoses and treats individuals of any age from new born to the eldest who have medical problems & other health related conditions, illness or injuries that limits their ability to move and perform functional activities and the activities of their daily living (ADLs).

including history of his illness, when and how it started whether he has taken any

DRDO has failed nation
Over the year, India's dependency on imported defense equipment has manifold putting huge risk on safety and security of the nation. India spends around Rs 3 lakh crore every year on defending its borders and most of the equipments are imported. Countries like Israel, USA and Russia are the major exporter of weapon to India. Situation is so bad that today Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar called for "self dependence" and emphasized on the need for indigenous efforts with regards to ammunition supply in order to meet any eventuality. India which is surrounded by hostile countries like Pakistan and China cannot afford to totally depend on imported defense equipments to safeguard its border.
Unfortunately, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) which was set
up with a vision to provide our defence services a decisive edge by equipping them
with internationally competitive systems and solutions has miserably failed to perform
their duty. The DRDO has clearly failed in its mission. There is no bigger indictment
of India's premier organisation for research and development in military hardware
than the fact that 68 years after its establishment, India still imports 70 per cent
of its defence equipment requirements. DRDO's list of successes is short-

Appreciation for central ANYA team
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, I on behalf of family of the victim would like to appreciate the noble job done by the Central ANYA team who visited the family of murdered Late Kenpu Dong during their darkest hours. The entire area was afraid due to possible communal tension.
The victims’ family was encouraged in their hours of need due to intervention of ANYA team who advised everyone not to give any communal colour to the matter.
ANYA team also took the ground details of the case and appealed the entire people to maintain harmony among the neighbours. And they appealed the entire public to let the law take its own course of action to give justice to the deceased’s family. They also appealed the concern authority to investigate the case in free and fair manner to find out the culprits who were involved in her death.
ANYA team also took stock of the law and order situation of the District and encouraged the people of concern area to live together for the development of the district. Fighting with each other won’t give any benefit to anyone and it only brings destruction.
These noble jobs done by ANYA team will always remain in heart of every Nyishi citizen of Upper Subansiri District.

Sangh and the PM
Dear Editor,
We all know that PM Modi is going global. No doubt he is popular leader in the world. He is quite conscious of his growing popularity. He is working much harder to gain more popularity. He wants to make India a developed nation irrespective of religious, caste, creeds though he was once a member of RSS. He is honest and wants to keep himself free from corruption. His council of ministers is following him anyway. Nation cannot expect more than this.
However, the Sangh Parivar’s growing dominant role with its hidden agenda is certain to upset the nation.
No doubt after he elected as PM of India, Modi wants to divert his attention from Sangh agenda and keep more focus on national issues which the Parivar finds it hard to digest.
That is why they asked the PM Modi and his council of ministers to present the performance report to the Sangh.
The people of this country who voted the NDA to power would be compelled to think again. The greatness of India is not because of Narendra Modi, not because of Sangh Parivar or any other religious /social group. We all should know that the greatness of India lies with its Secularism.
Limited options available for NDA as they have to decide whether to work towards the national agenda or the hidden agenda of Sangh.

O mother !
Dear Editor,
Of great riches but a woman without virtues. This is how my observation permits me to describe the femme fatale of Assam; Indrani Mukherjee. My heart drummed out of control as I shrieked in disbelief, “What greediness does to some women. Her heart and soul frozen around one frantic desire; money.” The ways to enrich oneself is through infidelity and contrived murder, or so the recent turn of events have come to unfold. A woman could have a mind so sly and crafty that years later she would turn vicious against her own daughter is an astounding yet agitating emotion to believe. As it is said ‘Envious eyes does most harm and when the party envied is beheld in glory or triumph, that sets an edge upon envy.’ This particular phrase is difficult to come to terms with when used in context of a mother seeking revenge against her daughter. Indrani Mukherjee is a woman who desired to excel in too many matters, out of levity and vain glory, which left are ever envious. Her envy towards Sheena Bora was more vile and malignant since she had an injured pride to feed up.
My voice conveys just the right tinge of mild concern over such women and the disorder they create in the society for a while. What corrupted soaring ambitions they nurture! What an emancipation of women! Carrying the greatness of her fortunes accumulated over the years through her associations with numerous suitors and enticed with the opportunity of having a fanciful life, she let loose her wickedness to bring upon the calamity on her family at the end. Like an infection that spreads upon viable areas, her actions have tainted the pious concept of motherhood. And like bats amongst birds she kept her vilest affections well guarded until she ran the sword through her daughter’s heart!
Human nature is often hidden, sometimes overcome but seldom extinguished. His/ her nature is best perceived in privateness for there are no precepts to guide him. Groans and convulsions of a dying child couldn’t dissuade Indrani Mukherjee from committing such a savage crime. What a brazen heart for a mother! Vindictive persons live the life of witches who, as they are mischievous, end up being unfortunate. Her course of life has been a horrid complication of wickedness, adultery, lying and murder. A crime has been charged on her and the proof is so evident in Sheena’s letter (who else would call her own mother a devil!) that there is no room for her so much as to plead not guilty.
What an unapologetic tale of bigamy, betrayal and murder. It has left all of us in a disturbed state of mind because the intensity of the truth is oppressive; a wife and a mother, seeking redemption from the sufferings of her own child.
O mother! May your repentance yield you no satisfaction, no peace, no, not in the least because it is repentance after the power of further sinning has been taken away. Let your whole life be overwhelmed with melancholy and despair. May you engulf in the misery of punishment. It is scarce possible to imagine that a mother’s essence should be capable of so much degeneracy. The weight if guilt upon her is enough to sink any creature who has the least power of reflection left. Indrani’s deed is a stab into the very vitals of motherhood!

A self declared Banggo

This is in reference to the news items published in your esteemed daily on 06 Sept under the title “villagers repair road”.
“Banggo” is an age old institution of the Adis. It executes various political, social
and economic under its jurisdiction. The so called Rayang Banggo” referred to in
your paper is a part and parcel of Yibuk-
There are various laid down norms and procedure for the creation of a new Banggo from its parents Banggo which have not been met by the so called Rayang Banggo. It is a self declared Banggo without the sanction of the parent Banggo, ABK and even the pubic residing in the village. It has been declared by a few elite minorities to satisfy their vested political interest.
Samak River which should have been a boon for the villagers have become a bane for the villagers. Some youths extort money from the truck carrying sand gravel to satisfy their Alchol and drugs craving.
Hence, your esteemed daily should refrain from publishing any news item from this self declared Banggo.
Your esteemed paper should verify facts and then publish it.
